The page lists the shipping as $3.95, but I was charged $4.99. Still, nice straws, big, pointy on one end, mine are clear with red stripes. These are nice big straws, but considering how they shipped in an envelope and weighed as much as well, let's say, a bag of straws, $5.00 shipping seems excessive. Either seems high, I'd say $2.50 would be right.
If you purchase this product and don't have an approved dispenser, you are risking a violation. As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, I can tell you that this product is NOT approved for use under the 2005 FDA Food Code, Section 4-904.11, paragraph C, unless they are loaded into an APPROVED dispenser allowing the customer to obtain his/her own straw. In order for it to be an acceptable product without an approved dispenser, the straws must be individually wrapped and presented to the customer with the wrapper intact.
I thought that the straws would be solid colors, when in fact they were patterned and much more than I had expected. Great product.
So far they have worked great, easy to cut, easy to push in cake. I bought these instead of dowels to stabilize wedding cakes. They were really expensive (with shipping) but thats what I get for living in the middle of nowhere.
Came when they said it would. This item was a bit hard to find, but this is exactly what i wanted. Will likely order from them again.
